The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art joins the community in mourning the loss of James B. Nutter, a businessman and philanthropist who supported countless efforts and organizations in Kansas City.
Most recently, Mr. Nutter generously supported the outdoor exhibition Chillida: Rhythm-Time-Silence, seven large sculptures by Spanish sculptor Eduardo Chillida. The sculptures are installed both on the Nelson-Atkins grounds and in the public Theis Park, owned by the City of Kansas City.
In May, Mr. Nutter was photographed at the ribbon cutting for the exhibition. The museum extends its sympathy to the Nutter family.
